Minister Lavrov made a comparison to the Holocaust when discussing anti-Russian sentiment.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov recently compared Western countries’ efforts to get Russia out of Ukraine to Adolf Hitler’s “Final Solution” to eradicate European Jews. Minister Lavrov claimed that the West was using Ukraine as a proxy to destroy Russia. He said that Western politicians “clearly say Russia must suffer a strategic defeat.”
“How dare he compare anything to the Holocaust, anything. Let alone a war that they started,” White House national security spokesman John Kirby responded, calling the comparison “truly offensive.” He added, “There would be no need for the United States or Western nations to provide these kinds of weapons and capabilities to Ukraine if Ukraine hadn’t been invaded in an unprovoked way, by Russian military forces.”
